Nautic star 215 XTS or 227 XTS
Just wondering if anyone could give me some feedback on these two boats. Pros/cons. I'll be looking for a deal at the upcoming boat shows. Will a 150 motor push the 215 just fine or does it really need a bigger motor. Thanks

Just my opinion. I wouldn't put a 150 on a 21 foot if I was buying new. Don't know much about Nautic Star's but I know when I was looking at new 21 Frontier's, people said 150 wasn't enough. I would go at least 175.
I ended up buying a used 24 Triton with a 225 4 stroke. It's enough motor to get the job done but wish I had more. Will put a 275-300 whenever it gives out on me. |
I have 224 XTS with a Yamaha 200 on the back. Great ride, great gas mileage. With 5 batteries, t-top, gear, ice and 2 fat guys runs 33mph at 4000rpm.

I had a 2110 with a 200 hpdi. It ran great. I wouldn't put a 150 on a 21' boat. seen too many people complain about it not being enough motor.

Yeah we have a swim ladder and dive offshore in it. I really want that boat. Can fish bay but is a solid offshore bay boat. Not proud to say but I have been in 5-6' in that boat and ran 20-25 and never got nervous. Won an offshore tournament against some big offshore boats that weekend too.

Nautic star 215 XTS or 227 XTS
I have the nautic star 224 basically the same as 227. Had a bunch of trouble with the boat's construction and had to fight and fight for the boat to be serviced correctly. Love the boat now that it is fixed but would never buy nautic star again. Customer service truly sucks and they don't care about their customer at all. Btw we have a 250 SHO, and it tops out around 55mph with 4 adults, full fishing load and full tank. Hit 58 once with half a tank and everything else the same.
Btw I think the 150 would push the 214 to about 40-45 with 3 guys and fishing load. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
