LEW's BB1 Inshore

Has anyone used this reel? I just wanted to get some opinions on it. I know there have been many good reviews on here regarding other LEW's reels.

I don't own one but i know a few people that do and I've used one before and they are very good reels.

I have two lews reels...one high end, and one that's pretty basic....Love them both.

I have 5 and have not cleaned them in the past 18 months. They still work like new. Used in the marsh and offshore.

Do you guys think that the non-inshore versions handle salt just as well as the other versions? If so it opens up many more options as far as their reels are concerned. I have two Quantum Smoke reels that aren't made for salt and that's all they see and they don't have any issues handling it. I just take them apart and clean them once a year and they never have any damage or build up from the salt use.

I don't know about the smoke but i've had older quantums hold up good in salt...ABU Garcia was a good reel I found till they quit manufacturing in sweeden....There are still some come from there but I got revos that were designed in sweeden and first time in salt they were junk at over 200 a pop....I just personally won't put a baitcaster in salt unless it is salt approved anymore...Going on 3 years my bb1's have served me well....From what I see the bb2 is just a wider spool...

I have 4 tournament pros, 1 inshore and 2 speed spools. 3 of the TP's are over 3 years old and used exclusively in salt water including wade fishing. Haven't had a single problem. Changed pawl on the oldest and that's it. I actually prefer the TP over the inshore but that's just me.

I see where they are coming out with a inshore LFS for sugested retail $129.99....I will be trying one of these soon....

All of my reels are LEWs except one and I love them. I have some ranging from $20 used E-bay finds to a 1 year old BB2 In-shore and a few TP's . I only use the In-shore in salt and it has the rinse feature that allows you to run water through it and wash it out. The handles are really nice, it's a freakin winch ! No problems with < 24" reds or anything else large. Smooth enough to through lures that aren't huge and holds alot of line.

I have 2 bb1 inshores and 2 tourney lites and love them. Used to be a die hard Shimano guy but they are now back ups.

I purchased a low end one because of posts like this and it quickly became my favorite. Cant wait to get the higher end reels now.

Used 2 Tournament Pro (non inshore) reels exclusively in saltwater for over 3 years, rinsed them regularly and cleaned twice a year, only changed the pawl in one of them. Planning on going to the BB1/2 Pro next. Great reels.

Yep I pulled the trigger on it. Didn't really need another reel but I couldn't pass it up.

I got one and have never had issues with salt water. I hose it down with salt away after each trip.
