motorguide great white series

i've always used minnkota and i've never had a problem with them. but im lookin to upgrade my transom 40lb to a bow mount trolling motor.does anybody have any experience with these trolling motors and how well they hold up?i seen an 82lb bow mount new for $650 which i thought was a good deal and definitely overkill for my boat.but id like to think that if my outboard breaks down im not stuck with a 40lb trolling motor put putting back to the dock. plus on my boat i'll never really have to use past 2-3 so id get alot longer use out of it then my 40lb.plus it'll be on the bow so easier to control the boat.

My Motorguide is 14 years old now & still going strong. I upgraded it about 7 years ago to the digital type when my circuit board went bad & parts were discontinued. When you put it on the bow, add the bigfoot switch & an extension handle, will save your back from leaning down to turn motor on & off.

whats the big foot switch?

Just an on deck on/ off foot switch. That way you don't have to twist the handle every time you want to move, just set your speed and use the switch

If you get the switch, take the bottom off & fill it with dielectric grease, will make it last longer.

I already replaced my switch 2 times and it is broke again.
