apparently they are building structures to eliminate salt water intrusion into the lake itself from the ship channel. anyone have any more info on this? someone passed this to me in an email. first time im hearing this. am i late on the bus or has this been discussed before? seems like fishing trout in big lake will be a past time when they complete this.

Late to the bus, man. There's been talk of this for a while now. There's a whole thread on here about it that's been going for a couple of months now.

Glad to see they are working on getting it funded. That's a big step in the right direction.

Now let's just hope some politician doesn't try to redirected to offset some of those state budget cuts.

Hope this doesn't harm the oyster fishery so many people rely on over there. Trout can move to salty water but not oysters

this will help the oysters. go read the previous threads on this.

This will help the oysters and will help the oyster dredges to keep raping the reefs. From what I read this is about 8 years or so down the road as far as completion of the project.
