3 mile lake???

Goin for the 4th. Besides bringing the tube and wakeboard, Huey has been after me ti take him fishing. I dint know squat about freshwater (saltwater either judging by my catches lately). Anybody know that place?

BassAssasin 07-03-2013 07:25 AM

Fished there over 10 yrs ago, caught a bunch of small bass on lizards and spinnerbaits in the little cuts

Dink 07-03-2013 08:47 AM

Ok....I've heard of worms and crickets before but never used a lizard for bait.....heck, I didn't even know lizards could swim!

Oh!! That makes more sense.....I was trying to figure where to hook a live lizard

BassAssasin 07-03-2013 09:05 AM

Classic!!! Dang saltwater guys haha

Matt G 07-03-2013 09:10 AM

How would you fish a lizard like that? Weightless? Pardon my ignorance because I know absolutely nothing about bass fishing.

meaux fishing 07-03-2013 09:17 AM

Either Texas or Carolina rigged is the only way I've fished em before. But I am by no means an authority on bass fishing.

breambuster 07-03-2013 10:32 AM

Just like you would a worm. Carolina or texas rigged. Only time i fish lizards is when the bass are on bed

Dink 07-03-2013 10:44 AM

Ok....so I should just get some worms then?

Dink 07-03-2013 10:45 AM

I'm familiar with caolina rig.....gonna have to lookup this texas way tho

BassAssasin 07-03-2013 10:53 AM

Just get some crickets worms and really small corks and go perch jerkin. Bream may be on beds.

swamp snorkler 07-03-2013 10:57 AM

It's going to be hot so you may need to fish them in deeper water 4-5' maybe more. Just get a little hook tipped with a nightcrawler (worm) and drop it over the side of the boat. When you get a bite notice how deep it is and set Hueys cork to that depth.

Montauk17 07-03-2013 11:31 AM

Got some nice sacalait in there.....drift the open water with tube jigs.

Dink 07-03-2013 11:39 AM

Hope there's a breeze cause I don't think the tide will be a factor in a drift

Montauk17 07-03-2013 05:32 PM

Let me be more specific....controlled drift with trolling motor lol

Goooh 07-03-2013 05:35 PM

I'm saving this thread, the two worlds collide - lmao

PotLikinisAhabbit 07-03-2013 05:49 PM

Wait till it rains then run to the drain pipe and anchor out if water starts moving you will load the boat down with sac a lait and bass. Only place on the lake to catch quality fish from my experience, especially with the boat traffic tom.

PotLikinisAhabbit 07-03-2013 05:54 PM

Aslo the spill over from 2 o clock will produce fish but im sure the water is not high enough for this to be productive right now.
