July 4th fishing rodeo!***

Gearing up for the annual rodeo. We will be giving $1000 for largest speck and $500 for largest slot red. Also lots of other prizes. Jude and yellow mouth baits have sponsored Calcasieu extreme custom rods for youth redfish and trout. Also there will be $100 cash tacked on to youth trout. This year will be our first year with a kayak division so all the yakkers come on out. Captains night will be held next Friday the 27th at the fishing club. There will be food and drinks served. Tournament will start Friday morning at midnight and run through Sunday. Hope to see y'all there.

In my opinion there needs to be more cash prizes for each division. If I fish all weekend and spend upwards of $1000 or more on expenses I would like a chance to earn a cash prize for my efforts.

Just my .02

If you're willing to find sponsors we would be more than happy to give more cash away.

$35 at ticket locations

$25 if u purchase at captains night.

$25 is not much for 3 days of fishing for a big trout imo

BROWN FIN 06-19-2014 05:16 PM

We are also gonna have a big trout Calcutta. $25 per entry only available at Captains Night. You could possibly win some big money if we can get enough people entered.

To enter you must register for the regular division ($25 at Captains Night) and also register in the Calcutta ($25). With the regular division 1st place trout you could win $1,000 but if you were also registered in the Calcutta you walk off will all the cash from the Calcutta. It could be $5,000. Just depends on how many people enter the Calcutta.

We will only accept Calcutta entrees at Captain's Night (June 27th).

Bump. Captains night this Friday for those wanting to participate in the Calcutta.

ScubaLatt 06-24-2014 04:28 PM

Years ago Players Island offered to be the corporate sponsor of the tourney with the stipulation that the weigh in be at their casino. The club turned it down because they wanted to keep it at their clubhouse.

I can't change what happened 20 years ago. All I can do is try to build on what we have now and it isn't much.

We're rolling deep for Billy's in the Sea Dog, tournament is always a good time good looking forward to it.
