Some from the second split. Rice fields in SWLA and Mallard hunt in NE Arkansas for the last weekend.
-Killed the Mallard-Pintail cross on opening day of second split. Probably the best hunt of my life. |

One of my worst duck seasons in a while for sure. Had a few good rice field hunts and a few fun timber hunts to make up for a poor season in the marsh.

Jealous of everyone's timber shoots and specks. Nice!

It's all private land. One of the places is off the Mississippi River next to Cat Island WMA I've been hunting since I was a kid. Always make a few hunts a year there. It's down the road from my deer camp. Beautiful place. I used to crush them in there 10 years ago. It didn't get enough water to hunt until 2nd split this year. One of my friends has some timber around Columbia, LA I always make a few hunts with. And I went with some guys with Tony Chachere to Dewitt, AR last week. Awesome place but hunting was real slow. Still awesome to watch a few mallards work the timber. My marsh lease is north of Rollover Landing in Pecan Island. We ended the season with 275 ducks and that was including teal season. I didn't even waste my time going out there much this year. |
