Gastric Sleeve surgery

Well, with Ace doing so well, I decided to come out of the closest, so to speak. I went to Mexico and had gastric sleeve surgery on April 1. My insurance would only pay for gastric bypass and with my health history, this was not an option. Best price I could find in the states was $16,000 and with travel it cost me about $6,000 in Tijuana. Found out that Tijuana has the most medical tourism in the world.

I have battled my weight my whole life and with my neck and hip issues decided it was time to do something to get it off and keep it off.

I started the pre op diet at 308 on March 16 and weighed in at 271 this morning. Still a long way to go, but getting there.

Good luck with the process and it sounds like you're headed in the right direction

Way to go brother! Man your beating me on the weight!!! Dog gone it... I am gonna have to work out some more to keep up with you!!! :)

Honestly i saved very little money by using insurance and doing it here in the states. My total out of pocket cost's are not going to be that much lower than what you paid for the total surgery. If my insurance would not have covered things, or if they would not have covered the surgery which was right for me... i would have went the same route as yourself.

In any case, Welcome to the new healthier you...!

Thanks Ace.

I am not getting hardly any exercise because of my hip/back issues. Going to Houston Monday to get an injection in the hip and hoping for some relief to get some exercise.

And it isn't a race to loose. The race is going to be keeping it off. LOL

Here's to hoping that once the pounds come off you will be able to be more active again.
