bent skeg

I just noticed my skeg is bent about 15 degrees to the right, can this be bent back with a rubber hammer or something, i know it's cast so it's pretty brittle, any suggestions.

You will probably break it. But if you are going to hit it, put something on the other side of the skeg like another rubber hammer, block of wood etc...to help shock and concentrate on one area....

You may have someone talk you into heat but I wouldn't. The heat dissipates so fast through aluminum you will end up burning seals up if not over heat everything in the lower unit.

two hammers just as explained.....small strikes
I like to hold a mall behind the bend and strike the other side
