Labor Day 17' Redfish trip

Got off graveyards this am and headed to the point. Boat has been ready to go 7 days before Harvey hit. Lake Charles got Lucky. More so than most realize! Let's just hope we don't get this Irma. Tried a couple reefs on way to cut and nothing. Water extremely high and fresh. Once to the cut started catching reds right away. Caught 25 or more to box my limit of 5. Lots of little rat reds. Caught sun perch and blue gill in cast net where I caught the reds, lol. Lots of bait but small bait and there were small fish. Could have built a decent size wharf with all the deck boards and poles drifting out mid lake or so. Turners is absolutely horrible!! Was glad to catch the reds but will likely be a few weeks before I head back out for trout. Good luck
