Morganza Spillway

Jindal just announced the opening within the next 24 hours. Why 1 will close at 10am and remain closed for 4-8 hours. If you or any family in the way of this water my prayers are with you.

This is sad. I feel for the families and businesses in the path of disaster. Very unfortunate.

It is a very unfortunate event. Prayers to those who will be affected.

Although this is a tragedy, it's an event nature must have; it's how it cleanses itself and allows for new growth. Same principle as wildfires and prescription burning. Nature is cleaning the slate and starting over.

my uncle is evacuating now and we have long time friends in that area. Definitely praying for everyone!

Montauk17 05-13-2011 06:09 PM

Not good! I know several people that live and have camps in the path, lets pray it does not get too bad.

Forgive my ignorance, but where is all this water coming from?

Snow melting?

W, I live in this area and you are right. If the levee's were not there and the water was allowed to spread out across the land we would hardly notice it.
