Shimano going with plastic !
Shimano is selling out and will no longer be made in Japan. They are also replacing some metal gears and other parts with plastic on some of the new reals. *** !

Buy up all the older models while you can! I hope the parts for the older models don't become obsolete.

I lucked up this morning and found one 200-E7 at Tidbits and Tackle this morning for $130.... I also got an E5 for same price.

it's no secret that the new G series curados, citicas, caenens and caius are being made in malaysia and are of lower quality in labor, materials and QC. the price reflects that on most of those reels.
the old japanese made curado e's are still available online for around $135. the "new" chronarch e's, which is the same reel as the old curado, is still made in japan. i know people hate change, but it is what it is, gotta roll with it. :/ |
