What kind of primitive rifle to get??

Just trying to get some opinions on what would be the best primitive single shot rifle to get. I'm in the market to get one.

X2

Even thought about selling my 45.70 and getting a 35

Well if anyone has a used single shot for sale let me know because I'm not set on buying anything and I much rather buy a used gun over a new one. For the right price of course

I have a .444 and have been very pleased with it

Now that the 35 is legal that is your best choice. Why would anyone buy a .444 or a 45-70 when you can legally shoot the 35 whelen? It would be like buying a sling shot when you could shoot a cross bow!

I shoot a 45-70... Its not the softest shooting gun for sure..

Heard some bad reviews on the .35 whelen

all three are good knock down guns, how far you expecting to reach out? the 35 whelen reaches the furthest of the 3 but really most guys don't take shots over 100yds when hunting from a tree stand which all three will work! and those h&r with a scope combos are only $269 and if I was gonna buy a rifle for deer why not buy something you can hunt with a couple extra weeks with?

The FTF issues with the .35 whelens was resolved a year or two ago, all the new .35's are good to go.

Check out the CVA Opitma Elite in 45/70. Sweet shooting gun. Does not kick. Its like shooting a 410. I have shot a H&R. Its kicks like a mule. There is no comparison.

I have the CVA in the .444 and it kicks like a mule. Bruised up my arm sighting in the scope. It does a number on deer though, shot a doe at 120 yards no problem.
