Vermilion Corp boundaries

Could anyone inform me on where the Vermilion corp boundary lies? I called the office and the lady I spoke with told me I needed to drive over to get the map which would be difficult for me to get there when they are open. Basically I need to know if the area I want to fish requires a permit or not.
Thank you for the help

Also if anybody has the map that would be amazing. I obviously would like to avoid spending money on a permit.

What do they want for a permit?

One route you can go is using the GIS map feature of the Vermilion Parish Tax Assessor. Find the area you are interested in fishing, click on the map to identify "land" owner.

I have seen one of those VC maps, and it's pretty ambiguous. Don't quote me, but I believe the permit covers the marsh West of the Freshwater City Rd (Hwy 3147) and East of that Weir off Humble Canal.

If the area in which you're interested is located outside the permit area, then theres a good chance its private anyway...either Audobon, Mcilhenny, or Vermilion/Exxon Mobil

Bon Chance!

The map lists the area as Exxon Corporation. I was under the assumption that everything west of 347 was Vermilion and east wast fair game. Which one is the Humble canal?

East you're still technically trespassing on private "land", unless you're in freshwater bayou or Belle Bayou etc. Fish at your own risk.

Humble runs generally west from Freshwater bayou, under swing bridge then takes a jog north after a few miles.

Ok thank you for your help. Is the fishing in vermilion Corp good enough to justify getting a permit?

I grew up fishing Miami Corp around superior and haven?t been back in years. Still duck hunt it.

i believe most folks do ok fishing, but really focus more on crabbing and shrimping at that weir. Plenty of free weirs out there elsewhere though lol
