Kayak weight distribution

I'm going on a 4 day kayak trip down the devils river in Texas March 7th. Lots of gear we have to pack in our yaks between the fishing and camping gear. My question is: what is the best way to distribute the weight in the kayak in order to draft less water ? There are shallow portions of this river and I don't wanna drag

Not sure about helping with weight but be prepared for the weather out there to change quick.... we were there 5 yrs ago fishing and seen it go from sunny and 70+ to raining and in the 30s quick

That's why I have so much gear haha, I tend to over prep/pack
