Why not just delete the dumbass comments & continue on with thread???? People actually had info that could be used in there.

Do you want to do it? Not being a smart SSS but that takes a significant amount of work. Now the good have to suffer with the bad since it was moved to the gill net. Removing several posts takes a great deal of time.

I agree with you 100% the thread had some very good info in it. That is why I asked more than once to please keep it on point.

Anyway, Isaac has made his second US landfall in Grand Isle after crossing over the mouth of the river. Apparently, it is moving west...contrary to what the NHC is saying.

Yep....if it keeps it up it will hit the whole la coast,oh well

swamp snorkler 08-29-2012 12:06 AM

Sad day in SaltyCajun History when people ruin a thread about a hurricane and get it sent to the gill net.

Is trolling an infraction?

I think that would depend on who was doin' the trollin'. It's sad because alot of people have stopped posting on Salty Cajun because of it. I agree...innocent, valid threads like this being sent to that trash pile is ridiculous....when it could be stopped so easily.

Isaac has stopped!!! Is that part of high pressure in extreme north Louisiana? Maybe somebody can find some better images.

Micah 08-29-2012 01:29 AM

Thats exactly what is happening Salty, high pressure "pushing" down on it and keeping it in place. It has actually starting moving west again and back over the gulf....not good.

kcinnick 08-29-2012 01:36 AM

Well it is keeping it out of Baton Rouge for now.

The 2:00 am advisory said it remains stationary. Central pressure dropped one millibar. Has not officially made the second landfall.

bgizzle 08-29-2012 03:50 AM

That's what I've heard as well. Hope for the best at 300 they said it was weakening very slightly. Still it's the high pressure keeping from moving and just causing a massacre on the south east part of the state. Hope everyone is ok and keep up this informative thread

eman 08-29-2012 04:14 AM

4 am advisory is now saying that Issac will not be in the BR area until around 1 am Thursday morning!

Micah 08-29-2012 04:54 AM

We're seeing 75 knot winds here in Violet according to our vessels animometers. My wife is at home in Houma and she said that she can here things hitting the house and scratching sounds on the roof which I'm guessing is shingles coming off. It really sucks not being able to at home with them for this.

News said there was a levee breach in this area and there was an emergency evacuation of all folks in the braithwaite area.
Praying that Capt Hoop is ok.

Big Flounder 08-29-2012 05:47 AM

Just woke up. Doesn't really seem like the wind picked up a whole lot here since I passed out about 12:30. Got a constant drizzle now.

Steady wind in Gonzales with heavy gusts. Rain is light but coming in sideways. Just waking up after a few hours sleep so now, it's off to the house to see if there are any trees on the house.

gasdad 08-29-2012 07:21 AM

Moved my travel trailer out of Grand Cheniere yesterday because of a possiblilty of a 3-6 foot tidal surge. Anyone that goes through there or lives there please give us an update about that area. Hoping everyone is safe and no significant harm to all properties during through this storm.

Kids are a little nervous this morning. It was not that bad yesterday because there did not have the reports on the news.
My altimeter has steady win of 25 and a gust of 56.
we still have electricity which surprises me.

If anyone needs some good oak wood I'm sure I will have plenty in my yard later today

What part of walker you in? I'm in woodland crossing and we still have power. My mom is on 190 by the walker baptist church and they lost power at 5:00 this morning.

biggun 08-29-2012 08:47 AM

Big Flounder 08-29-2012 08:52 AM

Just saw on the news there are some barges in manchac that were tied together now only have one line holding them! If they break loose they will damage the 55 bridge. Owner of barges has a tug in rout

Now they are saying that tug boat company would not send a tug so coast guard is in rout.
