Spinning Rod for Sunfish/ Crappie
I just ordered a Pfleuger President 6925 spinning reel and am looking for a Light action/ fast tip rod to mate it to.
It's use will be for throwing small crappie jigs and the occasional bobber rig. I'm thinking 6'6"-7' length. It doesn't need to be a high-dollar rod. This isn't the kind of fishing I normally do but I want to get into it a bit. (I'm a baitcast guy). Any recommendations are appreciated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
go to woods and water on Common St. they have a bunch of rods and reels for cheep. I picked up some medium / fast rods the other day for $15.00 each. Bought some Pfleuger reels for $15.00 also.

Great article, Sir.
Thanks. I still haven't gotten around to looking for a rod. I imagine a Light action and Fast Tip is the ticket? Is there a preferred website that you buy your weedless from? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
[QUOTE=T-Boo;813247]Great article, Sir.
Thanks. I still haven't gotten around to looking for a rod. I imagine a Light action and Fast Tip is the ticket? Is there a preferred website that you buy your weedless from? The light action makes it easy to chunk all the super-light stuff. I just search around on Amazon, E-bay, Bass Pro, etc... |
Went with a Berkley Cherrywood rod (5'6", light action, fast tip) from Woods And Water.
That's a cool store to have around. Thanks for the tip. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
I was told that they will be opening a second store in Lake Charles.
Sorry..... I don't remember the when and where. |
I have 2 of those 6ft. B&M Duck Commander rods shown in the article. I love them. I use 10# power pro and since switching from mono I have yet to get a wind knot in years.

My brother bought a 8' B'n'M two-piece and it feels nice for the tiny jig application. Now I want one. Good stuff. Good to have. I'm ready for Spring.
