New Outboard Motors

Hello folks, I am looking to buy a new motor soon and would like some real-world experience from owners. I think I have narrowed it down to either a Tohatsu or Suzuki. I bought a riveted 1448 alumacraft ,which is rated for 10-25 hp, I had settled on the 15 hp, but for the price diferrence, I will probably go with the 20 hp. Any pros or cons on these two motors? The EFI seems like a good improvement, and the motor is pretty light for a four stroke at 106 pounds. How about dealer support on these for the warranty? Thanks for any input.

I absolutely love my 40 Tohatsu along with the 5 year warranty. Don't know anything about Suzuki.

I bout my Suzuki 25 in 2015. Has a 6 year warranty. I maintain it faithfully and it hasn?t had a hiccup yet.

Thanks for the replies, now I will need to check with dealers to see who sells loose motors. I found out that some can only sell certain brands as a boat package. I may also look into ordering one online.

You'll never wish you had a smaller motor. Especially if you get hit with a weather change!

I'd go with the lightest 20-25hp i could find.

Really fond of the little bit older small 2 stroke yamaha and evinrudes they weigh almost nothing.
