Q Set up

1 Attachment(s)
This is a set up that we have done before but not with this bunch of dogs. 4 marks in all but you can only see the 3 facing west. Running off a mound into running water the gun stations disappear due to the whips and a north-south swimming water channel is encountered prior to beaching on the far side. Left station is approx 200 yds, middle station is approx 240 yds and right is approx 110 yds. Birds are thrown L (R-L) M (R-L) and R (L-R) and run as singles first with all dogs. Multiples were run, Middle (memory) and Left (go). Shawn did the Middle and Far left mark not seen as a multiple and did a nice job. Short mark added plenty of suction for the middle mark when the dogs beached. This set up would be a 6 on the difficulty scale, IMO.

Do you drive a white F-150? Live in Chosen Valley?

Raymond 04-10-2013 11:18 AM

Hunted several times with a dog named Cane you trained Raymond, must say you did a great job with him.

Nice athlete, great owner who sees the value in learning how to make the most of what he paid for by being a student of the game.

I live right there on Ham Reid, group of town homes. Red F-150. I run my dog every no and then in that pond.

Shawn Braquet 04-10-2013 07:33 PM

Maybe we should have worked on honoring instead of some meaty marks lol

Raymond 04-10-2013 08:39 PM

It's not my dog, you run him anyway ya want but ya may be right.;)

cajunforeman 04-10-2013 08:48 PM

I've seen Cane run and he was a hell of a dog on Raymond's truck. I sure he has done nothing but improve.

Trip in action

Shawn Braquet 04-11-2013 03:32 PM

At least you left the attempt to honor out, that blind looked uglier than I remember

Spunt Drag 04-11-2013 04:13 PM

2nd to last dog=a lot of drag back scent. Also the wind picked up making it crosswind. Don't give up on him just yet, he's a very young dog and breeze's through the work. A little honoring work and you got a Senior test any day of the week.

Spunt Drag 04-11-2013 04:18 PM

But I would like to see Trip stretch his legs at a derby. Ima try to make the D/Q in port Arthur May 11th since I didn't see the Q last time.
