anyone have a lone wolf climber/lock on?

if so what model and how do you like it? I am really thinking about getting one of each(not at the same time due to price). Whats your opinion on them if you actually have experience with them?

I have a bunch of different brands of lock ons but one of my favorites these days is the XOP lock-ons and climbing sticks.

They are pretty much the same as the old Lone-wolfs. Someone from LW went to XOP. Made in China but quality is top notch and price is in my range. I have too many lock-ons to have Lone Wolf's. And I always need a couple more lock-ons as I hunt private and public.

I modified the sticks by taking of the straps and adding some spectra rope. Much lighter and quieter.

I know some serious bow hunters that started using them this year as well and haven't heard a bad thing from anyone who was actually used them.

I would keep an eye on them this summer and wait to see if you can find them on sale. Got mine at a really good price at begin of season.

My sticks now have camo tape and the rope mod that I mentioned. I have been using the rope for a while and almost all of my climbing sticks have that mod right now. So much lighter and quieter than the straps. I use some 8' lengths of spectra rope with a loop on one end and I use a figure 8 knot to secure strap to tree.

I use the spectra because I can get some pieces from work but can get some good rope from REI. Just look it up on archery talk, allot of threads on this.

I hunted from a Lone wolf wide sit and climber II....lite weight, easy to pack in and out of the woods. Hunted private land, however due to the local thieves ....never felt safe to leave it in the woods.

I just checked my old receipt. I paid the price it is at now on Field Supply website. I had got the sticks at a discount but stand was 159.

I did find a coupon for the field supply site as well. Maybe a $10 coupon. Did a search for Field Supply Discount codes.

I got a wide sit and climb last year and love it. I would go with the regular if I had to do it again. Try xop out. The difference is the bow holder shape which isn't that big of a deal. I have the wolf head style and almost had my bow fall out twice because the platform is crowded. Put a third hand bow holder on the side now. You get what you pay for and it is worth it. Verry silent climbing and packing in. Find some one that will let you try it out. And make a decision.
