Yes.....unless the wind is 20+ mph.

Give it a week or 2 for the freshwater to roll out. I live just north on the river, and the water is high running. You will be able to catch fish out of your boat. This area is a big area for kayakers

Thanks huntin fool for the info. What's some good places to fish around the state park?

Before this storm, any stik baits on cypress trees (senko style) and buzzbaits on the cuts and cypress trees had been killer. Now that this storm hit and the water is currently running big time and dropping. It's muddy and low. I'll probably hit it tomorrow or Tuesday.

Water has officially left the Calcasieu River. Its about 2-3 foot low. I can't get my boat out of my canal. The water cleared up fast, little better color to it today. Up north I got reports of dead shad and trash fish due to low oxygen levels past the park.

Huntin fool you think Wednesday will be good day to go

I'd give it until Friday personally. By then it should be much easier to sling good #'s. I'll let you know what the water does tomorrow however.
Heavy Soft Plastics, wacky wormed and buzzbaits all on cypress knees have been the ticket man.
