I hated leaving "God's Country" when I left South Louisiana but I tell you it would be difficult to get me to leave this place......with that said we have not made it through a winter yet......WINTER IS COMING!

Mako19 07-30-2017 09:11 PM

Thanks, Hooper. She was thriving while in Houston but has REALLY been doing well since up here. She loves being outdoors.

Keep postin and let us know how ya like the winter those pics are way different froze over. I have known a few local guys transferred up there to work they all agree it is both the best and the worst place they have ever been.

I thought the same as you when I went to work in Alaska, I didn't want to leave. Then October came along......

dmtfish 07-31-2017 05:35 PM

Awesome pics! Our next big trip will be Kenai. Of all the places I have been fortunate to travel to with work, I keep missing out on Alaska!

Haha!

I am aware that WINTER IS COMING! Trying to do enough fun stuff to get me through it. Looking forward to ice fishing and snow skiing

Amazing pictures. Where in Alaska are you? I lived in the Anchorage area for 3 years. I absolutely loved it. Did you catch your salmon "flossing" or floating eggs?

We were "flossing" for them with fly tackle. I was using my spec rod and reels and putting them to work!

I have been living here in Anchorage for around 5 weeks now but have not spent a weekend in the "city" yet. There is sooo many things to do within a 2-3 hr drive. Have been to Whittier, hiked up to Byron Glacier, did midnight Flatop hike, fished the kenai last two weekends and plan to fish cooper's Landing this weekend with a friend who has a boat.

If you don't mind PM me let me know some of your favorite things you did while here. I am looking to book a Halibut/rockfish trip in Homer in the next few weeks after salmon run is over.

Awesome Pictures!! I was going every 2 years but, haven't been in 10. You are going to make me head back up. Check with RWs Outfitter if you want to do a fly in or halibut trip. He has connections down in Homer and Seward. Enjoy yourself and send more pics.
