my point is just this, what if LSM mag drew a map to your duck pond in lacassine refuge? what if they published gps coordinates to your fav. tree in tensas??????

would that be right?

why is a lake any different?

The reason why it is different is b/c several people can fish a spot(cove) at the same time. Ever saw 2 grown men (who don't know each other) sitting in the same tree looking for deer???NO Ever saw 4 men (2 totally different groups) sit in the same duck blind??? NO
LAANGLER, I see why you are frustrated, however calling the people who take advantage of the information giving to them "Idiots" is not the way to go about it. How much respect will these "Idiots" give you now when they pull up and your surf fishing??? and I am sure you won't cut off their drift either for fishing your spot.

Sulfite said it perfect. IT is GREED!!!!

Agreed, back on topic. Certain spots like the weirs & long point are well known & fair game in my opinion. Other not so well knows spots like certain reefs in west cove or the middle of the lake should be kept under wraps as they do not have any land marks to identify them. It is our job to keep those spots to ourselves.

Stuff like this: http://www.louisianasportsman.com/details.php?id=2026 really isn't going to hurt the secret spots in my opinion. To most of us the information in that article is common knowledge & will help keep the rookies off the really good holes. For the most part, we are trout fisherman. To me, reds come a dime a dozen. I aim to start sight fishing for reds alot more this year. This is pretty challenging & quite rewarding as well for me personally.

I respect everyones opinion on sharing information. To each his own i guess. I have made alot of friends on this site. Occasionally there is some good information posted on a hotspot but you can't expect everyone to post their favorite spot because it will be flooded with a bunch of boats full of guys with no manners & no clue what to do when they get there.

That little write up on the weirs don't really matter, everyone knows about the weirs. What LAngler is talking about is in the feb mag. Capt Poe wrote it and it gives away ALOT of info on when, where, and how. I don't understand why a guide that makes a living fishing would go into so much detail. LAS must have gave him a nice check to give it up.

jsmoke222000 01-27-2010 12:52 PM

I'm headed to the store to buy it right now & see what this is all about. The Poes are good folks & good guides. Not sure what that check looked like though.

Or maybe he did it to piss-off some on this site!! All these locations that are listed in the MAG I think are common knowledge to most on this and other sites. I really do not see somone that fishes the East coming down to Big Lake becasue of the MAG article. Also, if you buy a HOOK-IN-LINK map it gives you even more locations. To me, if you get pissed get pissed at the POES!!!!!
