16 ft trawl question

What is the distance you set your trawl ropes to the boards? I think the Top (float) is a little longer than the lead line. Looking for exact distance. Thanks.

Depends on the type trawl you have, how tall the wing spand is, how big your doors are and how heavy are they

There is no exact distance. The net should be made with some drop back in it. Drop back, that is the lead line is longer than the cork line. On a 16ft net it won't have much, maybe a foot or two.

You don't want the webbing right against the doors but then again you don't want it too far. I would think that about 18" to the first hang would be about right for both top and bottom. If you have a net shop near you or an old shrimper that you can talk to, maybe they could look over your setup and help you out.
