Which Crossbow for Under $500???

I have been looking for a while now and keep going back and forth on which one I want to buy. Currently I have narrowed down to 2-3 different ones but every time I look my mind starts doubting and changing. Is there any recommendations out there on Crossbows? The key points are that it would be used for deer in both a tree climber and ground blind for both myself and Dad (who doesn't hunt that often). Any input would be great, thanks in advance.

Friend has 2 Barnetts that cost about that. Ghost model maybe??? He has killed several deer with them.

I don't know much about crossbows but I bought one at Precision Archery in Bridge City, Tx. They recommended the PSC Fang as the best bang for your buck until you get into the higher end crossbows. I bought it and have no complaints and have killed a buck with it. It is light to carry and my wife uses it as well. When I researched it the earlier ones has limb issues but I think they have been resolved.

Barnett is where I have been, mainly.

Thinking between the Barnett Jackal Crossbow or Raptor FX2. What y'all think?

Thanks for the response. I couldn't pass up the price of the Barnett Jackal, that I recently found, so I just ordered that. Hopefully it is half as good as people say. Hopefully this season I will post a report with it ;)

I have had several. Currently my favorite is a Barnett Raptor FX. I'd recommend changing over to a Nikon XBow scope. The ones that come on them are crap. And WATCH WHERE YOU PUT YOUR FINGERS WHEN SHOOTING! I know a few people who have dang near lost theirs shooting a crowwbow.

I have shot a Barnett for about 15 years now. I see no reason to change.
