$25.00 a box trust me you gonna get what you pay for there. Ghg hands down is the way to go!!!! Fully flocked if you can spare the extra bones.

Top Dawg 03-07-2012 01:57 PM

Dave smiths to me look the best. But cheap shells work just fine.

DUCKGOGETTER 03-07-2012 02:01 PM

In my experience we used to use 3 dozen g&h shells, and we picked up 6 ghg full bodied specks and had better success. Imo if you use a better quality/more lifelike decoy you can use less and cut down time getting set up. Remember less is more in some situations.

Whatever you get, you want the velvet/flocked ones. They look so much more realistic. And you don't need as many.

Nope Specks and here in Houston, they also have snow geese. They usually run for $80 a box but they had a bunch left over after the season and I went and cleaned up at the one by my house. I also picked up some GHG hot buy mallards for $20 a box...

How many specks in a box?

Super Spook 03-07-2012 03:02 PM

GHG hands down. You have to take care of them and don't leave them out.

x2 we never left ours out and get the slotted decoys bags for them to keep them from touching each other to transport them.

couldnt agree more

Also with the velvet flocked they don't shine nearly as much with the dew of the early la mornings. Which to me is the key I have had birds flare until the decoys dried
