Double beard!
Took my nephew turkey hunting this morning and got a good one! We heard a few birds gobbling before coming off the roost early so we knew we had birds around us. Sat for a while and only saw two jakes and a few hens. We were just about to pack it up and head back to town and grab a bite to eat when I heard one gobble pretty close to us. I told my nephew to get his gun ready because he was coming! Sure enough, he popped his head up about 60 yards away behind a barb wire fence and spotted the decoy. He started strutting and drumming but stayed hung up at about 40 yards. I told my nephew to get his gun up and take it off of safety. I hit the call real soft and he picked his head up to see where it came from and I told my nephew to bust him and he laid the lead on him! Top beard is 9" and the bottom one is 9 1/2". Awesome bird and awesome hunt with my little buddy! http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...8c544774eb.jpg

Thanks guys. It doesn't look like it in the pics but he was pretty pumped up. Later that afternoon I called in a coyote and he shot it right in the head with a .243 and the next morning after that, we went coyote hunting again and as we were setting up, a group of 15/20 hogs came by and I dropped two of them. I'll post up some more pics tonight.
