to tunnel or not to tunnel

Have an 18 ft. Alweld Marsh 1856 flat and contemplating upgrading to an 18 ft. Alweld 1860 vee hull. My question is, since I will probably order new, should I order it with a tunnel or not? I plan to move my 90 Yammie VMAX with hydraulic backplate to this boat and sell my present flat and trailer ($7,000 if anyone is interested). The pros and cons that I know of are that I will lose about 2-3 mph top speed, but that doesn't bother me since I never run WOT. On the plus side, on those few occasions when I am in skinny water, I can be more assured of not spending the night on a mud flat.

Any other considerations?

if i wasn't in skinny water at least 50% of the time, i wouldn't even consider a tunnel. they're great for what they're designed for, but effect handling and fuel economy in normal usage.
