tried this recipe yesterday. very good, but too hot for me. if you try it, cut the peppers in 1/2. grits were awesome. need to tone the heat down in the stew for leftovers. any ideas how to do that?

Don't know how much gravy you have but maybe strain half out and add more without the pepper...If not much gravy just make some more and leave out pepper...

Add a few raw peeled potatoes, they will suck up a fair amount of the excess seasoning, or what lil bubba said.
