7-3-19 Calcasieu River Crappie

Made my first trip of the year on Calcasieu and was able to find some. Most of my brush piles and tree tops are not there anymore after the floods. Just had to find a couple more. River is clearing up really good and hopefully get even better. Fish were not grouped up yet but found two new holes I caught 8-10 on each one. Mostly was 2-3 at each spot. Fished 10-12 spots to get these 32. Caught a lot of smaller throw backs. I did keep a few smaller ones to fry up whole and I found that sometimes u have to thin the little ones out some to get to the better fish. Had already cleaned some smaller ones before taking pics. Most were 10-11 inches with one 12 incher. Wont be long if water stays clear they will start grouping up in deeper water.

been talking about putting some out but have not in a few years. I think I found , well I did find a fresh brush pile but fished kinda fast and didn't get but one bite. but my dad and brother n law fished a spot i fished fast and did good on. All but 3 came off that one hole. in deep water so im going to have to tight line some more. I always say if they don't hit at 6-7 feet then tight line to bottom and back up and I didn't do it. they found them in 20 fow 10 feet down. said he cleaned 21 crappie a brim and catfish.
