Does Calcasieu point have live shrimp for sale?

Taking a friend tomorrow and heard they were biting on love shrimp only in turners on Thursday so want to make sure all bases covered.

I saw people buying shrimp there this past Friday. Should be good to go.

They were selling them today.

Dude I promise you do not need live shrimp in Oct or Nov...... 1\4oz jig head and glow sparkle beetle will catch you trout a lot quicker than live shrimp!!

Ray 10-25-2011 08:22 PM

They hit anything on a lead head today. Gulp, DOA, Sparkle Beetle, Grub...

Going this weekend, nothing but glow salty grubs for me.

But my 12 year old is going to sling some skrimps!

That's what I'm thinking too but a coworker who went on a guided trip said last Thursday live shrimp was the only thing that produced fish. I'm inclined to do without and if nothing bites then I'll catch some shrimp and pogies

All I can say is....If a guide had 2 use shrimp in Oct....#1 he aint much of a guide and #2 he didn't try....I promise you will not need live shrimp!!!!! My grand maw could catch a limit of trout....

So....to answer the question YES they do have live shrimp:)

Rookie Redfish 10-26-2011 10:59 AM

Yep. They have live shrimp.
but I agree with "W".
A green jig with a red dot will make the trout and redfish knock the pole out your hand.
also, I tried the gulp smelt and they were biting that thing like it had the antidote in it.
