go to color for winter trout

Ive had tremendous luck with pink colored lures(corky fat boy, skitterwalk and devil eyes) for winter trout. What do you have the best luck with?

I love pink and purple baits. My big flounder I caught was on an eletric chicken which is pink and green.

I really like that salt and pepper w/chart. tail. You can work it really slow and still get the action out of the tail.

I use those on a popping cork rig with a 1/16 oz head. It has a slow fall that I find works a little better in colder weather. The only downfall with the SWA baits is that they tear up really easy. They will only last for 5-6 trout. On a good day with a few guys on the boat, it's nothing to go through 2-3 packs.

I hear you on that one. If someone else would come out with those colors in a tougher plastic, I wouldn't fish with the SWA. It's nothing to go through a whole pack in a days time. And, if I run into a bunch of ****** trout, it may take 2 packs to get 25 fish in the boat. :shaking:

They do have some great colors, but durability is a major issue. I like using them on a spinner bait. I just grabbed a pack of copper with chart tail that I think will be great for reds. Other then that I have a bunch of packs in my tackle bag that i never touch.

I have a whole tackle bag full of plastics that I don't use and in colors that they probably don't make anymore, including those dink catching sand eels...:smokin:

What did you have in there? I took those yellow dudleys from you:grinpimp: They will probably take up space with the rest of the garbage. I like those lemondrops too much.

LaAngler 11-08-2009 11:47 PM

chart works better than pink to me

dudley's are a great bait, my fav is the glow/chart, they dont twist my line like a sand eely wheel
