I'm sure the fact that it's not cold makes for a happy wife too!:*****::*****::*****:

Sounds like you guys cleaned up on em quick today. I wish I was out doin the same but my huntin partner's dog was killed earlier this year and it really took the wind out of both of our sails.:(
Maybe next year?

I told you i'd let you borrow my 20 ga. So that 12 ga wouldn't knock you down in the mud, but you don't listen :shaking:

W glad at least some one is killing some birds. Our place in Kaplan is always great for teal season except for this year. Yesterday we got 1 and this morning got out to the blind after 30 minutes. Really nothing and left before the rain. We are really not even seeing teal. Also, not much shooting going on around us. I guess they are not in the Kaplan area yet. Hard to figure out!

I'm hunting South of Jennings....There are plenty of teal in the area and lots (I mean a hell of a lot) of shooting to the south of us!!! There was a ton of shooting Sat.... I'm not seeing the huge flocks of teal like you usually have the opening weekend...but they are still coming in....

yak'em-n-stack'em 09-13-2009 11:42 AM

we saw lots of teal flying higher than ive ever seen teal fly

We are really not seeing NONE at all and very little shooting around us. Not sure what the deal is. In the past we slaughter the teal.

How many did ya kill Sat. We killed 2 in our blind and my buddy knocked down 8 and got 6 of them. Gator got one and they lost one in the grass. Some of the others killed good and a few of the others didnt fire a shot. Seen hundreds of teal right under the cloud cover and hauling azz and wasnt looking at us. Didnt get to make it to your camp, we started on the coors light and you know I dont drink and drive

We were in little chenier. I didnt go this morning, my head was hurting and it was lighting and raining again.

yak'em-n-stack'em 09-13-2009 01:52 PM

cap'n D, i admit i did the worst shooting ive ever done. we had a flock of 12 greenies come in about 30 mins after daylight and cupped on the decoys. 9 shots

no ducks

we got buzzed from the back quite a bit because the blind we were in has a blind spot.

we got 3 in that blind but the blind next to us killed 2 limits.

we should have killed more, but we missed so many.

teal flocks were far between but came in the usual waves
we got about 6-8 more inches of water than a month ago so that helps

you know anyone with a mud boat that would come run our channels to clean them out?

I heard a few reports from the Elton area that were positive. Seems right now either you have birds or you do not. Gonna try tomorrow morning.
