Basically if the birds are here this year we gonna slaughter them. Gonna have the pilgrimage of people from the back huntin the front, Runnin the marsh is gonna get shut down big time.. Anything else? Lol

wacknstack 05-23-2013 10:09 PM

I'm going to be able to charge people to tow them back when they run the marsh and the tide goes out during the hunt lol

Remember how awesome it used to be before the hurricanes?? Full of ducks and bass! Now the fishin is okay (reds) but the huntin is down right pathetic! That place is shot.

There will still be no enforcement in the back so the original marsh running, law breaking hands will still be using that route more than likely. We can't really be mad cause we knew it would get shut down back der with all the complaints. We just have to start over like everyone else.

If they would've spunt the $$$ on digging out central canal instead of hiring that company to clean the debris (which they didn't do), then it would be getting back to good.

Yes but after a good north wind I don't think I'll be able to run these "trails" they're claiming to make.

RULES ??

You know things will always be the same. Some people obey and some dont. You will be able to fish from the Vinton Drain Ditch to the back of Sabine like always. It was a blessing they let us utilize that way to hunt the back since Central Canal was plugged. All the marsh running stopped that now. Some got caught some didnt. Just like speeding on the highway, some get caught some dont. So if you caught back there now running into the back during duck season, well if you get caught now it will be alot worst than a ticket. They will utilize a camera system alot like redlight cameras very easy as they have in the past. Lose your boat and hunting rights, its your to give if you want to take the chance. They will always be a few to force changes on the majority.
I think how good it could be if we would just follow the rules out there so they could trust us do follow the rules. The people that run Sabine can do anything they want out there. Its up to them on how that place is open to the public or restricted to the public. Funny thing the restricted pubic is only the ones that follows the rules. The guys that always break the rules are the ones that limit us all.

If they started enforcing the laws a lot of people will probably quit going. Since Rita it has been a free for all.

WildPig911 05-27-2013 05:01 PM

This is not true.... This is only a suggested plan and has not been approved. And some of what is posted is entirely inaccurate.

Top Dawg 05-27-2013 06:34 PM

I hope it don't happen. Sounds like you're in the know, can you fill us in?

Raymond 05-27-2013 09:35 PM

I was told by the big cheese at Sabine he has only 2-3 agents to work Sabine and Cameron Prairie. Their job is almost impossible given the size of both. I also agree that the hunting up front decreased tremendously in 04 and hasn't and won't come back with the current management plan.

tucan 05-27-2013 09:36 PM

Well, what is not accurate?

My source is from the refuge, whats yours?

Jadams 05-27-2013 09:51 PM

Sabine is a 60/40 refuge 60 percent has to be designated hunting area 40 for refuge if they close certain areas they have to open new areas.... Look for the public meeting and everyone attend and argue

TealKiller85 05-28-2013 02:05 AM

What's wrong with Sabine is the jackasses that watch a episode of duck dynasty and go buy 50 bucks worth of decoys and set up 50 yards infront you. I couldn't careless about people running in the marsh and personally I think you should be able to run the marsh, it's the only thing that lets you get away from the potlickers. I have been hunting sabine since '01 never had much traffic in the back now all these new hunters come back there and cause problems for everybody. Hard to kill ducks when there's 15 groups hunting a 10 acre pond.

That's a load of BS. If u ain't lazy u can get away from the pot lickers. The problem with the lazy *** law breakers running the marsh is that one day they gonna run over the folks that follow the law and are paddling in pirogues.
