2 buddies just bought the new Beretta A400 Extreme Plus. It's a sweet gun but I'm a Benelli man. If I was buying a new gun this season it would be a Super Black Eagle III. Can't go wrong with Benelli or Beretta. Stay away from the Browning A5s. Everyone I know that had one had problems with it.

One of the Beretta's came from Buckfin and Feathers in Broussard and he got a free mojo with the gun purchase. That was pretty cool.

Fabarm waterfowler. Bought one 2 hunting seasons ago, love it. Had browning maxis and it didn’t like to eat any shell I put in it. But can’t go wrong with beretta either.

I’m in the market for a new shotgun right now too. I have a benelli montefeltro 20 gague and a beretta extrema and love both. I’m either going to get the new SBE 3 or the a400 extreme.

FF_T_Warren 08-23-2018 12:05 PM

Beretta.

neverenuf 08-23-2018 12:09 PM

Beretta a400 or a350 if you want to cheaper. Not a fan of Benelli SBEII...my buddies have them and I'm not impressed. Maybe the SBEIII will change my mind. I have 2 A350's for guests and I still shoot my old Beretta A391 Extrema II. If you get a A350, I recommend buying the KickOff recoil reducing stock insert made for the A391 Extrema II, it fits and makes a big difference with heavy loads.

Bought 2 Baretta's 3 years ago. No complaints

meat killer 86 08-23-2018 05:39 PM

I have a beretta extrema 2 and like I said at the beginning of this post it?s
Ka-Poot!! I love that gun. I think going with the A400 is prob what is best. Talked to a friend today and he said the browning silver is awesome. Just hard to let loose of $1,800 ya know. I?ll have to do it soon though. I like the slim line of the SBE III. I have shot them. They are nice. Just tough decisions.

neverenuf 08-23-2018 06:40 PM

What's wrong with your extrema2? I'm not sure what ka-poot entails...

I shoot a pump, every time I go hunting with a group there is always one guy that has an auto the jams. They have always scared me, I would rather pump mine out.

bjhooper82 08-23-2018 10:09 PM

Just a little info for anybody that may need/want a new gun. Lafayette Shooters does 24 months interest free financing with no money down this time of year.

Andrepont42 08-23-2018 10:38 PM

I have had a few benellis, then a beretta a300 and was going to buy the beretta a350. However once I compared it to the SX4 I was sold and its been a great gun so far really enjoying this one.

I'm tempted to go get an SBE 3. But I definitely do not "need" one!

You always need one

I bought a A400 Extreme Plus yesterday at lake Charles tackle. Put 3 boxes through it today. Awesome gun. Asked sales guy at LCT if they have been selling many SBEIII's and he's said not many at all....but the A400's have been flying off the shelf.

Flex 09-09-2018 09:13 PM

Beretta 9 ways to sunday.

Will shoot me AL390 as long as i hunt. If i had to purchase again I'd find a used AL390 or buy a 300.

Depends on what type of sight picture you like. The Beretta Extremas and the a400 have a flat vented rib. The a400 Plus(just came out) has the raised vented rib as does the Benelli SBEs. Make sure to put those raised rib guns to your shoulder and if possible take some shots with one. It's quite a change from the flat rib, some people have trouble with a change like that.

I got the A400 extreme plus. Only thing left to do is go shoot some skeet before these teal days get here lol. I?m pumped up. Literally. We pumping up the field now. Hahaha

I got mine Saturday from there.

The actual bolt in the butt of the gun that connects the stock to the receiver end of the gun is stripped on the female end receiver side. It?s possibly fixable. Moral of the story here is that I have shot it so much it wiggled enough and I never knew it to be loose and it stripped out. But I got a new one now. Going to see about getting it fixed later. Good excuse for a new gun. Lol

Top Dawg 09-10-2018 10:35 PM

Benelli M2 is tried and true. I switched to an M2 20 last year and will probably never shoot my 12 again. But the M2 12s are just as reliable.

I got the M1 12 gauge 18+ years ago. Was my first Benelli. Love that gun.

Ed32 09-11-2018 04:44 PM

Wow. I've never heard of that happening. I over tightened mine once and broke the plastic insert. At least it was a cheap fix. There is a torque value on that nut, and I followed it, but it's way too high.

I love my new Winchester Sx4. Didnt want to spend the 2K on a beretta or benelli. But cycles great and clean.

biggun 09-25-2018 07:03 PM

x10!! beretta customer service is a joke.

all star rod 02-17-2019 05:53 PM

Purchased a SBE3 in late DEC....well worth the $$$.

boatdriver 02-19-2019 10:53 PM

Man, these new gun prices are outrageous!! I still have a pair and will always shoot the ol H & K original Black Eagles! These things just don’t break. You can buy 2 of those for one new gun these days.

Never held an SBE III... how different are they from the originals? Smoother? Lighter? Faster?

BD

all star rod 02-21-2019 08:40 AM

BD, the new SBE3 is all the above as your referenced. A buddy of mine had one that was less than a year old (looked like new) and sold it to me at a very good price. He wanted to go back to an Extrema. I really did not need another shotgun but it was too good of a deal to pass up. Also, you do not have to worry about the Benelli click. It has the special bolt like the Ethos.

75lrhodes 03-11-2019 08:41 PM

I shoot a versa max. Never had a problem out of it. Doesn't matter what she'll or load. Works great every time
