Dad and I left the point around 550 and headed for Spicers to get some shrimp. Yes the point has them but did not open today. Open on Wednesday and not on Thursday I don't get it. But watever we were early anyway. Got to northeast corner around 7 or so. Two guide boats sitting on the reef I like to fish so went way around and started our drift up by the camp and by time we got over reef one of them moved on. Power pole down and caught 11 trout and 3 reds by 9. Moved to the cut and water was beautiful and caught a trout as soon as we got there. Tide was really too strong and didn't catch another fish. Moved out into the lake onto the other reef. Wind is really kicking by now so decided to fish it pretty hard since north east corner was best protected with northeast wind. Left at noon and ended up with 20 trout and 4 reds. Not a great catch day but wind and lower temps made it a great cooler day to be on the water. I don't think I ever broke a sweat!! Ran out of shrimp really early cause they were nice size shrimp meaning we didn't get very many in the quart. No doubt had we not ran out I think we would of caught out other 10 to limit but it was enough action to keep us busy and waiting for that big one. It never showed up though. Lol!

If I'm understanding u correctly I did see a boat over that way fishing but we were just outside of old crab lady landing canal. The guy that owns the wharf with the reef literally right off the end of his wharf is from Houston and down here waiting for his house to dry out and get finished. But there is another reef just south east of that one we fished too.
