Sabine River 7/23/2017

Fished 6:10am-2:30pm. Caught 14, kept 5.
Only kept fish 12" or slightly larger.
Mainly fished Phoenix Lake area with worms and frogs.
Skies were nice and overcast. Tidal movement seemed minor for the most part.
In other news, boating manners still seem to be on the decline:
If the gentleman driving the white bass boat who buzzed me while I was fishing very near the bank pilings on the main river with a whole width of the river at his safe disposal is reading this, I thank you for waving at me afterward. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...cf3b7176c3.jpg
Bass apparently are eating crabs. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...3b13d5407b.jpg

Did your see that beast a guy caught during the cpso tourney on the sabine ? He and his daughter had 16+. It weighed over 6.

I saw that. The weigh-in was full of impressive results. Made me realize that I need to up my game on the Sabine and try different things. Those folks definitely know what makes that river tick.
