Got my speed master right next to me. Good lil gun. Kinda heavy for a .22 though

For the money you cannot beat the Marlin Model 60. I payed $100 for mine a few years ago, but I'm not sure on the prices right now.

From what I have heard, most of the 25+ year old Marlin model 60 have the problem of bullets jamming.....mostly on the first one that is manually put into the chamber by bulling the breach back, after loading the magazine. Mine shoots well and no jamming....except I have to put the first bullet in the chamber and then close the breach.

I bought mind used......so I don't know any "history" on this gun.

Any problems with the newer model 60's?

Had my Marlin since the early 80's. The only time I have feed problems is when i clean it. The 1st 8-10 rounds after cleaning wont clear the chamber after firung usually the stick out the side but sometimes are not unchambered at all. After the 1st 10 rounds it works like a champ. I've just quit cleaning the action on it now and no problems. Recently bought a Henry lever to shoot shorts and so far its a pretty decent varmint getter. Neighborhood cats are getting scarce...SK

The speedmaster will shoot LR good, but don't put shorts in it.
It becomes jammaster.
I think perfer the Ruger.

LaAngler 11-21-2009 10:59 PM

i dont like the 10/22 rotary mag, but I do like the gun

browning semi auto 22 tube fed model is sweet, buckmark rifle would be fun
