Questions

OK folks I have a few questions on a couple of spots I frequent when I fish. The bay I labeled 1, does it have a name? I usually do pretty decent here and always see a lot of people fishing it. The mouth of the bayou and the general area around 2, does this area have a name? Also a pretty popular spot. The area labeled 3 is some type of rock line. I am unsure of what it is. I have fished by it one time with no luck, but it seems like it should probably be a good location as well. Does anyone know anything about it? Just looking for general info. Thanks in advance.

You will also hear some old timers refer to #3 as the "Old Revetments".

I know his spot marked #2 is commonly called Oyster Bayou but as you noted; actual name is West Pass of the old Calcasieu river.

I was told by a Cameron native, that Oyster bayou is about half way between West cove and the ship channel and heads southward off the West pass.

I have not been in that area in several years, but I believe the entrance to "Oyster Bayou" was partly blocked off with rocks to form a weir. Also, the land along Oyster bayou is private.

The entrance to oyster bayou is not blocked off and there is no weir that I'm aware of. It connects the ship channel to west cove.
