Bill Lewis original ... Chrome and Pink, red crawfish, and the old stand buy bleeding shad which is blue with a redish stripe and little blood spots. they work, reds love

use the 1/4 oz chrome / green back for trout in the winter . slow retrieve.

BassYakR 03-20-2014 06:20 AM

That small 1/8th ounce Chrome trap they sell with the lil spinner on the back works great for reds in prien.... Have caught a lot of reds on it. I also like a Gold n black 1/4oz for trout in the fall/winter

I like the chrome and blue back.

If you can find it bill lewis made a avacado halo color that works great on trout n reds. That and gold with a black back.

Someone from the site suggesting using the floating model, I just don't recall who.

I picked up a few of them to try near or on top of oyster's. They should run pretty shallow if retrieving them slow.

I like to use a yo yo retrieve.....sweep your rod from about 9:00 to 12:00 position and reel up the slack.

Original bill lewis, chrome/blue back or chrome black/back... Steady retrieve, stop it every now and again. Trout and reds love them, and apparently as I witnessed yesterday, so do flounder!

Put a squid trailer on that rattle trap and u got a guaranteed fish catcher!!:)

keakar 03-21-2014 09:36 AM

I find you cant go wrong with chrome and any added color for specks and for reds they seam to like the gold better then the chrome. my normal standard colors are gold with black back and chrome with blue back.

if im cranking then I use the 1/4 oz if its relatively calm and still and there is no current and 1/2 oz if its windy or if there is a current and if im trolling with them I use the 3/4 oz size
