Here's what I see on FDIC CD's on open market right now (doesn't include local bank CD specials):

3 mo ~ .20%
6 mo ~ .30%
9 mo ~ .50%
1 yr ~ 1.00%
2 yr ~ 2.00%

Def. don't recommend going longer than 2 yrs in todays interest rate environment.

Just to name one.....

If you would have bought MELI 6 months ago......you would have make 100 % profit........doubled your money.

true...and that can be said with a lot of stocks, but comparing stocks to CD's isn't really fair. 2 opposite ends of the spectrum.
