Guys need your help in a bad way...

Just got to navarre beach in florida for the weekend with the family and the in-laws. They got a condo. Well I brought my rods and wanted to do some fishing with my 14 year old, I can't stand just sitting in a chair on the beach and not wetting a line. Now my problem is I have no clue where to fish and be productive. Talked to local bait shop guy, and he told me they hardly ever catch trout or reds in the surf on the beach which I find hard to beleive. I am sitting in my chair staring at the navarre beach peir and they have people every 3 foot it seems with lines in the water with 10' rods and 5lb spin casts. Ain't noway I am going in the middle of that. These guys here swear by using "sand fleas." I don't know it's like leaving home and trying to fish in China. So anyway sorry to be so long winded just anxious. So do any of yall know this area or have ever fished it and can tell me a spot i can maybe drive to thats close to where i am at or any tips. I didn't bring my bayboat just looking to sneak away in the morning and late evening and try to get on some fish. Thanks for any help and for reading this long post. Lol

Lol I am hoping the people think out on that pier at dark and I can try to night fish under the lights or something

Between Navarre and Pensacola on the sound side ... Get on google earth and look at the 2 longest points you see near Villas on the Gulf. Wade fish those with a Rapala xr8 olive shad if tide is moving for trout.

I'll be there in 3 weeks for 10 days doing the same.

Good luck !

If you want to draw a crowd and be a hero, throw a cast net and catch about a 12-15 inch mullet. You'll be on TV!

Lol your prolly right. A lot of the species fish they catch here we throw back and call it a trash fish in Louisiana. Here they put it on the navarre beach piers Facebook page and stuff. I don't know kinda feel like a duck outta water. Did go this evening in a cover for a few minutes at the park and picked up a 23 inch redfish so that was fun.

I've always fished the pier there. I know they catch pompano with sand fleas. We always caught king and Spanish mackerel off the end of the pier on hard tails and cigar minnows. Back in the early 2000's I caught a 5ft blacktip on the pier and we walked it down and landed it in front of Summerwind condos.

About a hour ago while I was on the beach sitting they spotted a shark swimming not to far off the beach.

Nice work on the redfish!

Use a silver spoon or gotcha plug and catch some Spanish macs out the surf. An ole fashioned speck rig may catch you some pompano. Done it in Pensacola a few times

Rent a kayak and head off Navarre beach. One of the very best beaches to kayak off of.
