not much about a revo is light. Durable I guess depends on how well you care for it after saltwater use. They are good solid reels but I havent fished one in salt for a length of time so I can comment on how they will hold up. I did just pick up a Lews inshore edition and am very pleased with it so far. You may want to look at those as well.

Lews are awesome. Shimano E series if you can find one are great. Don't get G series.

I have one REVO S that I have been using for a couple years with zero issues. Good reel, that's the only reel I have other then Lews.

The reason being abu garcia is bc im getting a good deal on one so i would prefer to buy one of them before dropping money on a shimano. I do not know much about the abus though besides the older ambassadors.

i have a revo s that is over 2 years old that is primarily fished in salt water. Zero problems. just bought a gen 1 stx off of ebay and it is a good reel so far also. I picked up a new gen 3 stx at academy the other day and it felt like a plastic POS. The gen 1 and 2's are better. I don't feel that they are heavy at all. To me, the revo fits better in the palm of your hand when on a rod than the shimanos do. Just my opinion tho.

I got a revo sx 5 yrs ago, and it's been my go to reel. I've never broke it down for cleaning, just give it a freshwater bath. The worm gear just went out but besides that I've had zero issues.
