Some days I win some I loose

Being an acoholic isn't easy and I did it to my self. I don't win everyday but I try to win as many as I can. I do all I can for my family but when your son says I want proof you're trying it hurts
. A lot

duckman1911 08-15-2017 05:58 PM

I don't know how to give him proof

duckman1911 08-15-2017 06:00 PM

At that point today dying did not seem like a bad idea

Duckman, call your sponsor asap.

The more you win, the more you will win. He will see the proof.

I'm not putting a gun in my mouth or a rope around my neck. I was just hurt. I don't have or know what a sponsor is. If I had one it would be my son. I'm not quitting but some days are hard and I don't win. I love the win days and the more I have the easier it is. Somedays just aren't as easy.

AA meeting. Ask for help, in general and in getting a sponsor. Sounds like you're rural. You might have to put real effort into it. Try to do it. It works.

Do the 12 steps. And don't give up. Recidivism is an unfortunate but not unexpected part of the deal.

Asking for help - however it might be - is unimportant step. So congrats on that.

Duckmann, praying for you brother!! Stay strong and seek help! I say seeking help is proof!

Duck man, I don't know if you go to church, but I can tell you it solved my problem with drinking, smoking, and wild living. Was not going to church and decided to try a spirit filled church, not what I was raised in or use to. God filled me with His spirit and haven't taken a drink or smoked since then, back in 1981. Just telling you my experience of changing my life.

Only the power that resurrected can Christ can deliver us from sin. It sounds like your son can motivate you, but the Son is the only one who can rescue you from the grip of alcohol.

From one to another, if you haven't had a drink in the last 24 hrs, then you're trying as hard as you are capable of. I know right where you're at......One day at a time, my friend, and I promise, the days will start to add up. Then, those that matter the most to us will notice. They are the ones we have hurt the most. Be good to yourself today, and worry about tomorrow when it gets here.

Wish you were in Lafayette. At church we have a group called Celebrate Recovery, meet every Monday evening with about 150 present helping each other one day at a time. Try to find someone near you to help you along.
