silverado vs sirra
my dads trying to choose weather to get a z71 2011 chevy silverado or gmc sierra. so wat do most of the outdoormen perfer? pros and cons please..

Same exact truck with a different grill and logo. Pick the one you prefer the looks of and roll with it.
|
They are one in the same. The frames are interchangible as well as the suspension. The motor options are the same. Without a big list of stuff, GMC has some different package options and they are typically a little more fancy than Chevrolet.

My dad has a 2011 GMC and loves it. Only has about 5000 miles on it though. My wife has a 2009 Chevy Suburban with 32000 miles on it and has been having issues with the a/c for the last few months and they can't seem to figure it out. His is a 1/2 ton 4 door 2wd and it rides like a dream.

Both the same junk

I bought a Silverado because it was 2 grand cheaper but prefer the looks of the GMC. Haven't had any problems, but next truck will be a Ford.

I have a chevy 4 x 4, 1500 crew cab...chevy best on the market..my last one had 150k miles I put in 4 years with zero issues. ..the gmc is just a little more $ for basically the same truck.

Got 167k on my Chevy an no problems.
As I mentioned earlier, gmc is a little higher than Chevy but the options are nicer in a gmc. If ya wanna drive a new gmc, let me know. I do all the nre, used and warranty work for a local gmc dealer. |

Love my 2011 GMC Sierra!

Driven Chevy all my life. 1500 4x4 crew cab, currently on its 5th year and have never done anything but change fluids in it.
|
Hands down GMC looks much better than Chevy, but like others said they are the same truck with a different front end and different bed
|
I had a couple of older GMC's that I bought new, they both lasted about 4 years before having any issues. They were actually cheaper than the Chevy's back then. '81 and '88. Last one was a '96 Chevy with a bunch of trouble. I was dating the Chevy warranty clerk, so I was covered for 3 years. It was a very troublesome vehicle.
