I'm not exactly following the humorous part to this. Is it supposed to be a joke and if so why?

jchief 08-16-2016 04:12 PM

Bass Pro shop in Denham is flooded.

Boohoo, laugh a little and quit acting like Hillary

bayouchub 08-16-2016 06:17 PM

Not really funny at all.

Chip Landry 08-16-2016 06:21 PM

Our regional safety guy at work is on the pro staff there and teaches a lot of the hunter/bow safety classes. I emailed him today and jokingly asked when the "flood damage" sale starts.. He said the store didn't get water inside. .

When you have lost so much and then your job on top funny doesn't
figure into the equation.

Now if someone posted a meme or joke about your house being flooded, that might cause a chuckle I could understand.

See how that doesn't sound to funny?

times like this what else can you do but look for the positive aspects of life. why sit and wallow in the negative? ive seen and been through a lot in the last few days, but I woke up this morning thanks be to God and I've got a clean slate to do better than yesterday. laughter cures more than you think. Lighten up.

Yes it sure does. However laughter at the expense of others misfortune does not.

GasCan 08-17-2016 09:27 AM

in this instance whos the misfortunate? yes they may be out of work for some unknown amount of time. but there are assistance programs in place for those out of work. able bodies who are out of work are out and about helping the community clean up while they're out of work. bass pro is insured to the gills and the inventory will most likely be paid for at retail cost so they make even more money.

jokes about the flooding disaster in general are in bad taste. If you can't understand that...then there is nothing else to discuss here.

alphaman 08-17-2016 09:40 AM

My joke was about the products. Never about the people. Fishing reels poles baits etc.
