Fished prein area this morning. Threw mainly top water. Caught a couple reds and 4 Trout. Missed a few and lost 2. Fished all the way up to SWB.

Forgot to mention, second trip with my minn kota terrova i-Pilot and I can't explain how much more enjoyable fishing is lol.

Thanks for report. I love fishing Prien area. Ever catch em in Contraband bayou? I go in there to catch bait and there's always tons of activity, I dont know what I was doing wrong but have never been able to catch reds in there despite tons of bait.

I've never fished contraband. Don't see why they wouldn't move in there. Probably going to fish Sabine for bass this weekend.

I fish Contraband sometimes. I usually catch one or two Redfish fishing where the stumps are using spinner baits or spoon. Fish the baits shallow and hopefully you will not get hung up on a stump.


I have sometimes caught specks there.... but not often. One speck was about 25" long. Try for specks out in the middle.... just west of the No "Wake" zone.
