Best Inshore Saltwater Chart Package?

Have a new Humminbird Helix 7 SI, GPS, G2N and the built in UNIMAP is just terrible to say the least. It doesn't even show the salt ditch on the map. Anyway, looking for input on what the best option is for chart packages. Was thinking NAVIONICS but I am really looking for input on what package has the best detail for our area. Thanks in advance for the input.

X2 on Standard Maps. Very good on my SIMRAD. I have the LA pro card. Call Glenn or Scott. They will fix you up. http://www.standardmap.com

What they said but not sure if compatible with hummingbird.

standard mapping is not compatible with humminbird

Yea, thanks for the recommendation on standard mapping but as stated I have the Humminbird Helix 7. Looks like my options are Lake Master, Auto Chart Live, or Navionics. Unless someone else knows of another that is compatible with the humminbird. I want to go with the one that offers the most coverage of the area including the marsh areas and Big Lake. The product websites are really not very helpful as they all believe they got what you need.

Has anyone used the aerial coverage on the navionics platinum maps for the LA marsh?

I have been using the nav platinum+ cards for quite some time and I like them alot. One of the best positives I take away from using the card is that I get everything I need all on one card. Not just satellite imagery but also navigational charts and sonar charts which are the 1ft contours fishing charts. Pretty killer package. Its all I use and I haven't really seen a need to switch. Also, the satellite imagery for the LA marsh is great. I know they did a lot of new imagery for the area last year and it looks great. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for info. I actually just decided to go ahead and order the Navionics + chip. I am waiting on it to arrive. I will post my review of the chip once I get to take it out for a swim.

Please do, I just picked up the same unit but without the SI. I'm wanting something I can trust and works in the southwest area.

I just notice the Regions+ card is $149 and has a $50 rebate. I might look into that.

I've got the Helix 5 DI/GPS with the Navionics+, I'm happy with it.

scotth 04-07-2017 05:40 PM

So had some time to play with the Navionics + south regions and from what I can see its spot on. I am very pleased with the accuracy of the landmass's and the level of detail pertaining to submerged hazards and depths. Keep in mind it doesn't adjust for the tide. Anyway, for anyone looking, I would recommend this chip. Also, as stated by Broke Down, if you purchase a Helix 5 or 7 right now and get this chip within a certain time period you will get a $50 dollar mail in rebate. So for $100 bucks, I am in business with a good product. Hope it helps. S/F

My older Hummingbird showed the Beach almost 1/2 mile off.

I think the new Helix from 'Bird has been getting a lot of good reviews. no comparison to yesteryears units of a lot of brands. They're good units.
