I don't see how y'all break all these rods.. Only time I've ever broken a rod was when I stepped on it on the bottom of the boat accidentally

Only time i've ever broken was closing it on a door jamb or stepping on it, never hoisting a fish. I have a net for that.

I broke them fishing a topwater frog and flipping for bass. I have 10 year old all star titanium rods that never break.
|
One on my friends tried to replace one last week and they said send $100 with rod to Shimano
Too many abuse the system is what the guy told him, and thats why Shimano started charging

Well if when you bought the rod it had the lifetime warranty, they can't legally change it. It can apply to new purchases but not one already bought.

They got away with it because the company sold out to pure fishing aka berkley.

G-loomis is over the counter swap. on the first break, after that you have to send 60-80dollars to get replacement.

This past week I got a shimano crucial got it home put the line through the eyes tighten it up and it snapped. Never saw a rod break that easy. Thought it was just that one. Went back to exchange it got home was casting it in the yard got hung up on the grass and snapped. Brought them both back no questions asked but the second one I broke I didn't want another one so they let me switch to a Gloomis just pay the difference in rod cost. They were saying that they get those shimano rods in all the time. I'll never get another shimano rod. This was 2 days ago for the last switch.

because they spool their reels with 50 lb power pro for a rod that is designed for 8-17 lb line . n try to "tow" bass through the scum and snap them ... not because the rod sucks it because of user error

That may be the case sometimes but not always. The 2 I broke are named a crucial frog casting rod. 7' 9" extra heavy.....both snapped like a toothpick on 2 pound bass. Wish they held up I liked how light and comfortable they are.

Waterloo $50 replacement... I have broke two ( one got caught on a cleat and i snapped it, other broke flipping in a 7lb red )
