Houston River Ducks

A friend and I went wood duck hunting on the Houston River at the Anthony Ferry Road boat launch. We killed one, but saw a big marsh just west of the launch on Google maps that looked promising. Does anyone know who we need to get in touch with to get permission to hunt there?

Not sure about permission but I think you just gave a lot of people an invite to your new spot.

Used to hunt those areas years ago, Been run out of there many times. Pretty sure everything on both sides is posted. See guys hunting back there but pretty sure they are just trespassing. Maybe try the Police Jury website and see who owns it.

Going to make a run in the morning, try and shoot a few before school. Stay tuned for report! But in all seriousness, 98% of the swamps and marshes on the river are private.

I don't know if you noticed but there's a boat parked on the south side of that pond which means that's someone's property I wouldn't go with out permissio

ColtonS 01-07-2013 07:46 PM

Definitely not going without permission. Just wondering who owned it.
